Children of Valor offers the following services: tutoring, therapies not covered by military insurance, testing services, and advocacy. Work with your program specialist to determine the service you will be requesting on your grant application. There is no guarantee of funding of service or availability of service.

The primary contact listed on the grant application will receive email confirmation that a grant request has been made.

No. If your grant is approved, you will receive a grant award notification.

The Children of Valor Programs Committee makes award determinations on a yearly basis.

Grant requests may be made between June 1–June 30th.

Yearly grants cover services from September 1st through May 31st.

For new families, go to the Request Help tab at childrenofvalor.org and submit a grant request. Returning families, go to the PORTAL LOGIN tab at sealkids.org to access the Children of Valor grant portal with your username and password.

Families can login to their portal account and upload supporting documentation into their grant application.

Your confirmation email will include your program specialist’s contact information based on your zip code.

Grant determinations will be made by September 1 and the family primary point of contact will be notified by email. You will receive an award letter detailing your grant award. You should not begin services until you receive an award letter detailing your grant award.

No, families must apply every year and are not guaranteed a grant award.

If active duty, we require a Statement of Service. If you are a new family, please email your program specialist for the approved sample of a Statement of Service. If retired, we require a DD214. A valid SOCOM email is required for all active-duty personnel.

Only the primary point of contact receives email communication.

Each family account has one username and password.

Yes, please provide documentation that shows the diagnosis from a physician or psychologist, or results of school testing. Some other documents may help to support your application, including IEP, 504 plan, or EFMP letter.

Families must identify a primary point of contact and all communication will be sent via email to this contact. The primary point of contact must provide a personal email address and phone number.

Grant requests may only be submitted during the open period.

No, if your grant award is not used in full, you cannot roll those funds into the following year.

Yes, every child must have their own grant request. Each child’s needs are different.
