About Us

Children of Valor is the only national non-profit serving the children of active-duty and veteran Special Operations Forces.

Our Mission

Children of Valor provides critical educational solutions for children in the Special Operations community and promotes awareness of the unique challenges shared by all military families.

Our History

Children of Valor is the expansion of a mission and vision that began in 2011. Suzanne Vogel and her two youngest children, Hunter and Alexandra, founded what would become SEALKIDS in response to the tragedy of Extortion 17, the single largest loss of life in Special Operations Forces history. SEALKIDS was created as a living monument to these warriors, to recognize their sacrifice, and a pledge to care for the children of those who continue to fight for our freedoms. We serve active-duty and veteran families.

Children of Valor builds on the success of SEALKIDS and continues the mission with the expansion across Special Operations Forces. We are the only national non-profit that provides in-person, individualized services, tailored to the specific needs of the child with tracked progress to ensure success. Through our proprietary process, the Hunter-Chase Method, we have helped children across the US succeed in their academic pursuit, no matter the learning challenge or environmental obstacle brought on by the tempo of military life.

  • Military children may move up to 9 times before graduating high school
  • Military children will wait, on average, 9 months for implementation of special education services after change of command across state lines
  • Military children struggle with anxiety and depression due to the deployment cycle, high tempo lifestyle, and increased household stress

Catch a glimpse of history

Young Hunter and Alexandra Vogel talk about why supporting the children of our nation’s heroes is the right thing to do.

A young boy and girl stand excitedly beside a project board filled with photos and text in a cozy room. The mood is cheerful and engaging.

What an incredibly noble cause Children of Valor is. For whatever reason, there are special needs kids out there. And some of them are the children of people who defend this country and defend our freedom and risk death and go overseas, which is stressful and hard enough. By supporting Children of Valor, you are supporting some very dedicated and very highly trained people who love their family and love this country and want to continue serving.”
